Menu for Dinner Honoring Queen Elizabeth II

This menu was created for a formal dinner hosted by President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan to honor Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on March 3, 1983. The dinner was held at the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum of the Fine Arts in San Francisco, California. Later that day, the queen invited President and Mrs. Reagan aboard her royal yacht, the HMY Britannia, to celebrate the Reagans' 31st wedding anniversary. The queen's tour in February and March 1983 was the first time the monarch had visited the western United States. Her itinerary included stops in San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip also visited the Reagans at their California ranch, Rancho del Cielo. This menu is part of a personal collection belonging to former White House Executive Chef Henry Haller, who served from 1966-1987.
